MP Welcomes Improved Monitoring of Problem Sewer: New Measure – “Not Before Time” Says MP 01/09/08 North East Herts MP Oliver Heald took up residents’ concerns following the flooding incident in Jeffrey Close last month. In a response to Oliver Heald, Anglian Water have now said that they will add this length of sewer to their preventative maintenance programme with extra annual inspections and that they have also asked their representative from their FOG project (fats, oil and grease) to liaise with the local Environmental Health Department in order to ensure that local businesses do not discharge fats, oil and grease into the sewer irresponsibly.  [more]
